I really, really wanted to like The Sims 3. I've been a hardcore Simmer since the release of The Sims, and I had faith that this game would not be a let down.

However, The Sims 3 lacks a soul. In order for the game to be playable, you have to download a ton of mods. Without the mods, the Sims are dull, shapeless, and uniform in appearance. "Pudding-faced" as the modding community calls it. While the previous Sims games were very mod-friendly, this new incarnation is not. Not only do you have to spend hours trying to get your game to work after each and every update, but EA appears to go out of their way to make game customization next to impossible.

MySims Kingdom

My Sims Kingdom is a great game for kids....especially if you follow the ratings on the games. My kids love it!

The Sims 3: World Adventures Expansion Pack

This game is, overall, pretty cool.

I must make a point though-- if you don't have a good graphics card, you're not going to enjoy this game at all. This is a very detailed game, and if you don't get the detail, then you're missing out on more then half of the game.

Overall:
The Tombs are my favorite. You explore these new tombs that have different puzzles (they're very VERY simple puzzles, yet fun to have your characterized sim go through them), defeat mummies (or run from them), and even find numerous of simones.

The Sims 2: IKEA Home Stuff

Nothing earth shattering about a stuff pack, but the IKEA Home Stuff is a good one. All of the items are quite different in styling from most of the other things that ship with the games or expansion packs, so it adds another level of customization for your sims. Mostly bold color options and clean lines if that's what you're looking for.
